Longhorn Ironman 70.3 Training

Texas Iron's Longhorn Ironman 70.3 Training Program is a 11 week program engineered to see you confidently through the upcoming Longhorn 70.3 triathlon, and beyond. This course offers a combination of relevant instruction by veteran coaches with a challenging workout schedule to help you attain your triathlon goals.

Coached group workouts focus on education and form correction allowing athletes to develop their muscular endurance and aerobic capacity in a supportive environment. A detailed workout plan provides details and guidance for the remainder of each week's training, as well as access to the coaches for feedback and modifications.

Athletes will meet twice a week (Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings) for group workouts.  These workouts will be directly supervised by the Texas Iron coaches, and fully supported by nutrition and hydration product.  Workouts will cover swim, bike, run, transition and technical skills.  Training on the race course, so that athletes are fully prepared for the event, will also be supported from start to finish (long bike rides, runs, swim, etc...)

Course Coaches - Head Coach Jamie Cleveland will be the head coach for this program.  Workouts will also be supported by Assistant Head Coach Andrea Fisher, and Assistant Coaches Jeff Whitfield and Louie Riesch.

Course Start Date – Start date Tuesday, August 3rd 6:00 p.m.

FIRST MEETING LOCATION - Hill Country Running Company (215 S. Lamar: 512-294-2866)

Meet at Hill Country Running Company at 6:00 p.m.  The first part of the evening will be informative, with training schedules/questions/comments/explaination/etc...  After that there will be a short run workout so come dressed ready to run.  Plan for approximately 75-90 min total for everything combined (information + workout).

Training Days - Tuesday evenings (approximate 6:30 p.m. start time), Saturday mornings (approximate 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. start time)
